Illustrated Talks in 2018

On a variety of local subjects, given by fascinating and knowledgeable local historians these are not to be missed!


Please note that the talks take place on the first floor – people with mobility problems may find the stairs difficult.


Donations towards costs of these are very welcome.

Weds 2 May - Sir Peter Hesketh Fleetwood - by Dick Gillingham. An outline of the life of Fleetwood's founder

Weds 4 July - Blackpool's Street of Theatres - by Barry Band. About Church Street - still home to Blackpool Grand and the Winter Gardens.

Weds 1 Aug - More Dockland Days in Fleetwood - by David Pearce

Weds 5 Sept - A Fishing Trip from Fleetwood c 1920's - by Dick Gillingham and Dave Pearce

Weds 3 Oct - North West Seaside Resorts - by Dr Mike Winstanley

Weds 7 Nov - World War One, Commemoration in Memorials - by Andy Stevens


Guided Heritage Walks 2018

Walks are led by Dick Gillingham, local historian, and last around two hours.


Donations are requested for these (around £2 per person please) and follow a variety of routes around the historic town of Fleetwood.


Weds 18 April - Fleetwood's Founding Fathers - from the Museum, leaves at 1.30pm

Weds 16 May - Trawlertown Memories - from the Museum, leaves at 1pm

Tues 12 June - Flicks, Glitter, Greasepaint and the Roar of the Crowd - from the Museum, leaves at 1.30pm

Tues 17 July - Fleetwood as a Barracks Town - sets off from the Museum, at 1pm, or join us at the cemetery at 2pm

Weds 22 Aug - Rossall, the Birthplace of Fleetwood - sets off from Rossall Observation Tower at 1.30pm

Fri 14 Sept - History of Fleetwood Memorial Park - from Memorial Park at 10.30am

Weds 26 Sept - Decimus Burton Commemoration Day - leave the Museum at 1pm

10.30am - 3.30pm on Tuesday to Saturday
Bank Holiday Sundays & Mondays
Special Sundays (Tram Sunday, Folk Festival, Heritage Open Day)

Museum admission is Adults £3, Concessions £2 and accompanied children free of charge.

You can use the Coffee House and Museum Shop without paying for Museum entry.

We can cater for party bookings, with or without catering, during the day or in the evenings – please contact us for details.
